I have worked as a nurse for 14 years with the majority of my clinical experience working in the maternal child setting and as a nurse educator for the previous eight years.

NURS 408 Conceptual Bases of Nursing; NURS 411 Holistic Health Assessment.
What do you want students to take away from your classes? What do you want them to learn?
I want students to be able to think critically and to always be inquisitive while caring for their patients and managing their care.
Why did you start teaching?
I enjoy working with students and have always wanted to teach as I started off in college majoring in special education.
What advice would you give to nurses considering the online RN to BSN program?
As a nurse, we tend to be lifelong learners as nursing is constantly evolving, so it is important to keep up with those changes so that we can continue to grow with our profession.
Why are you interested in nursing? What drew you to this field?
I have always wanted to care for people, whether it was an ill family member or a patient, so it is in my nature to want to help care for people.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in nursing?
Being conscientious, detail oriented, caring, and inquisitive are traits that are important to nurses.
